Interests: Development, application and predictions of innovative technologies and methods; Integration of heterogeneous data; Workflow systems.

Background: Marshall Plan Foundation stipendist (Marshallplan-Jubiläumsstiftung). Currently finalising his PhD thesis with focus on integration of heterogeneous data sources, benchmarking of computational methods, and automation of bioinformatics analyses. Most recent work includes a multi-layer network approach to data integration for patient stratification in collaboration with Prof. Eric Kolaczyk at the Boston University, USA (Department of Mathematics and Statistics).
Master of Engineering (with honors) in Biotechnology obtained at BOKU, Vienna. Former member of the industrial biotechnology group of Prof. Alois Jungbauer (Institute of Applied Microbiology) and a genetics research group of Prof. Marie-Theres Hauser (Institute of Applied Genetics and Cell Biology). Gained valuable international experience at the Boston University in USA, University of Copenhagen in Denmark and working for Nestlé Suisse SA in Lausanne, Switzerland on a data management project.
